Frequently Asked Questions

I hope I can be as helpful as possible. Here are some FAQs I get regularly, but if your questions aren’t answered, feel free to email me!

In general, the farther out you book, the more likely you are to get a better deal! But, I typically don’t plan that far ahead. I usually book flights and trips about 3-4 months prior.

The number one way I keep my trips affordable is by chasing cheap flights. I am open to going anywhere, so when I find a good flight deal, I book it!

I used to check Google flights regularly to see what was affordable (this is how I found $350 round-trip flights to Spain!). However, I recently upgraded to the Premium subscription of “Going” and they now alert me on great flight deals!

Not yet. I typically book whatever flight is cheapest, whichever airline that is. I haven’t yet delved into the life of being loyal to one airline because I feel like it may limit where I can go and WHEN.

I use Google Flights and Going to book flights. I often book hotels through Booking.com to get loyalty discounts. I use Pinterest to find ideas for itineraries.

Google Flights and Hopper both have a good option for tracking flight trends and will notify you when the prices decrease. Also, my credit card, Capitol One Venture, now has an option where they will tell me when to book flights and will have a “price drop guarantee” if they price gets lower after they tell me to book.

Long-haul flights can be tough. For sleeping, I recommend a GOOD neck pillow (that doesn’t let your head fall over), a sleep aid (something drowsy- but I’m not a doc, so I won’t list specifics) and headphones.

It can be a little nerve-wracking when you are planning a trip and booking flights, hotels and activities for you and others (more so with more people). However, I have found that whatever hiccups come up, someone will be available to help and I am still going to have a great trip!
